A comprehensive page for Megan Prescott’s various endeavours.

Hello…

Welcome welcome! My name is Megan Prescott and I am a Writer, Director and Actor.

My website will act as a landing page for all of my projects. People are not meant to be confined to one box and as such, I encourage everyone reading this to open their minds to the fact that people can (and should) explore many aspects of themselves through their work. We’re often encouraged to appear not to have a personality outside of our work, but that narrative is outdated and classist; I’m rallying against it :)

Past Projects

  • $tripped! VAULTS Festival 2023 - In February 2023, I devised, co-wrote and starred in ‘Stripped!’ a Theatre-Cabaret show about the rights of marginalised workers. A sold out work in progress performance of ‘Stripped!’ was performed at The Glory, London, in March 2022 and received five star reviews. We received Arts Council funding to develop ‘Stripped!’ and were offered a run at The Vaults Festival in February 2023. The 90 minute show consisted of experimental, political cabaret-theatre, created by multi-disciplinary artists. Set in an East London strip club, $tripped! invited the audience to spend an evening with the performers at work. Simply existing as a sex worker and showcasing art inspired by true life experiences is a political act in itself and ‘Stripped!’ was created to encourage the public to support artists and workers in reaching new audiences and changing outdated, stigmatising perceptions.

  • Nasty (Put Some Clothes On) - A play that I created during my time on the Soho Writer’s Lab (2020) and The Bush theatre’s West London Playwright’s Group (2020) is currently in development. After receiving A.C.E. funding for our R&D period, we held a rehearsed reading of the first draft of Nasty in June 2021. Nasty is in ongoing development.
